My favorite rock verse

The final verse of Heart’s “Crazy On You” is my favorite stanza from any rock song. In four lines, Ann and Nancy Wilson convey desire, lust and longing with vivid imagery:


I was a willow last night in my dream
I bent down over a clear running stream
I sang you the song that I heard up above
And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love

Eventually, this song will slide off my iPhone’s Top 25 Most Played playlist. Until then …
